Cookie & Tracking Notice

Last updated: October 3, 2026

This notice lists exactly what RAVE™ stores in your browser. It covers the RAVE™ pixel that runs on our customers' websites, and the RAVE™ website and dashboard at rave.cxformula.com, run by CXFormula LLC. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

The RAVE™ pixel on customers' websites

The pixel sets no cookies. It uses your browser's local storage and session storage, which stay on the website you are visiting and are not readable by other sites. It loads no fonts, ads or third-party scripts.

NameTypeHow longWhy
rave_vidLocal storageUntil clearedA random visitor ID (not linked to your name or email unless the site sends both). Used for live visitor counts, to show the same message variant on each visit, to put a fixed share of visitors in the A/B holdout group, and to connect a later signup or purchase to cards seen earlier.
rave_exp_<campaign>Session storageUntil the tab closesRecords that this visit was already counted for a campaign, so the A/B measurement counts each visit once.
rave_shown_<campaign>Session storageUntil the tab closesHow many cards were shown this visit, so the site's per-visit maximum is respected.
rave_closedSession storageUntil the tab closesYou closed a card, so no more cards appear during this visit.

What the pixel sends to RAVE™

  • On load: the page path and your visitor ID (page view), then a heartbeat every 30 seconds while the tab is visible, for "viewing now" counts.
  • The full page address, to decide which of the site's campaigns apply. RAVE™ uses it for that decision and does not store it.
  • Which campaign and card were shown, hovered or clicked, and whether you reached the site's goal page, for analytics and A/B results.
  • Only if the site turned on form capture for that page: the email, first name and last name you submit in a form there. Only if the site calls Rave.track: the name, email, city, product and step the site passes. Emails are hashed on arrival and never stored, and only the first letter of a last name is kept.
  • Your IP address reaches our host with each request, as it does for any website. It is used to look up your approximate city, region and country when an activity entry is recorded, and is not stored by RAVE™.

To reset or remove the visitor ID, clear the site data for that website in your browser settings. To remove activity entries linked to your email from every RAVE™ customer, use delete my data.

For RAVE™ customers: text for your privacy policy

You are responsible for telling your visitors about RAVE™ and, where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), for getting consent before the pixel stores its visitor ID. You can load the pixel from your consent tool only after consent. Here is a starting point to adapt with your own lawyer:

Social proof notifications (RAVE™)
We use RAVE™, a service from CXFormula LLC, to show real recent activity on our
pages, such as "Sarah K. from Austin, TX just joined." When you sign up or buy,
we may share your first name, last name, email address and approximate location
with RAVE™. RAVE™ stores your email only as a one-way hash, keeps only the
initial of your last name, and shows other visitors at most your first name,
last initial, city and region. RAVE™ also stores
a random visitor ID in your browser's local storage (no cookies) to count
visitors, measure how the notifications perform, and avoid repeating them.
RAVE™ processes this data on our behalf. You can remove your activity at
https://rave.cxformula.com/privacy/delete or by contacting us. Learn more at
https://rave.cxformula.com/privacy.

If you turned on form capture, add: "When you submit a form on [page], RAVE™ reads the name and email fields to show the signup." Questions: support@cxformula.com.
