Campaign settings

A tour of the campaign editor (Cards, Pages, Design, Timing, Privacy, Sources, A/B test), card names and page targeting, colors, fonts and the brand kit, and previewing on your site.

Open any campaign from Campaigns in the sidebar to reach its editor. Settings are grouped into seven tabs: Cards, Pages, Design, Timing, Privacy, Sources and A/B test. When the AI coach is available on your plan, an eighth RAVE™ AI tab appears too. Cards opens first.

Above the tabs, a one-line summary such as 2 cards: Alert, Count is always visible. Click it from any tab to jump to the Cards tab.

Changes are not live until you click Save changes at the bottom of the screen. Live pages pick up saved changes within a minute. If you try to leave with unsaved edits, your browser warns you first.

Cards

Cards are the home of a campaign. The Cards tab lists every card (RAVE™ Alert, RAVE™ Count or RAVE™ Live) as one row with:

  • a small live thumbnail,
  • its name and type, what feeds it (event types, or the count mode and window) and where it shows (On: all campaign pages, or the pages you picked),
  • an On/Off switch, and Edit, Duplicate and Remove buttons.

Rows are collapsed. Edit opens that card's full settings in place (one at a time); click Done to close it. Add more with the + RAVE™ Alert, + RAVE™ Count, + RAVE™ Count · viewing now and + RAVE™ Live buttons under the list. A campaign can have several cards of the same type. Duplicate copies the card as last saved, so save your changes first.

Key settings inside a card:

  • Card name (optional): a short name such as "VIP buyers", shown in the list, the summary and the preview picker. Visitors never see it. Without one, RAVE™ names the card from what feeds it, such as "registrations" or "visits, 7 days".
  • Show this card on: All campaign pages (the default) or Only these pages. See Pages below.
  • Event types: which events feed the card. None ticked means all.
  • Verb and Highlight line: the wording. Tokens such as {name}, {verb}, {product}, {location}, {count}, {window} and {scope} are filled in for you.
  • Activity badge: the icon and its color.
  • Minimum count: hide the card until there is enough activity.
  • Max people (Alert and Live): how many recent people to rotate through, 1 to 50.
  • Link on click: optional page a click on the card opens.
  • Message variants (split test): add two or more to split-test wording. See A/B testing and lift.

RAVE™ Count cards also have What to count, Window (hours) and, for viewing now, Scope. See RAVE™ Alert, Count and Live cards.

Pages

Decide where cards appear.

  • Show on: where any card in this campaign may appear. Leave it empty to show everywhere the pixel is installed. Give each rule an optional label (Opt-in page, Sales page, Order form) so you can pick those pages per card.
  • Hide on: cards never show on matching pages, such as checkout or thank-you pages. Hide rules always win, for every card.

Each rule matches the URL with contains, equals, starts with or matches regex. Paths (/challenge) and full URLs both work.

Inside those pages, each card can show everywhere or only on some pages (Show this card on → Only these pages). Tick your labeled campaign pages, or add rules just for that card. Cards with no matching rule on a page are skipped there. Step by step: One campaign, different cards per page.

Two helpers on the Pages tab:

  • Does this URL match? Paste any URL to see whether the campaign shows there, and exactly which cards would show and why.
  • Which cards show where lists each page rule (and each card-only rule) with the cards that appear on it.

Design

These settings apply to every card in the campaign and are grouped into five sections. Everything shows in the live preview as you change it, and on your live pages after you save. Reset to RAVE™ standard, at the bottom, puts the whole tab back to the defaults (it keeps your safe zone and the mobile setting).

Layout

  • Position: top left, top right, bottom left (default) or bottom right. On phones the card spans the screen width.
  • Distance from the edge: 0 to 80px (20px by default). Phones use at most 14px from the sides.
  • Show on mobile: turn cards off on screens 560px and under.
  • Safe zone: CSS selectors for things a card must never cover, such as .buy-now-bar. Cookie banners and common sticky bars are avoided automatically.

Colors

Always visible. Start from has the two presets: Light (RAVE™ standard) and Dark navy. Below them is your workspace's Brand kit (see Save your brand colors), then a color for each part of the card: highlight line, card background, headline text, secondary text (the time), activity badge and its icon, avatar background and initials, and the border (or turn the border off). Each color has a swatch, a hex box and a row of quick swatches: your brand colors first, and for the highlight line also RAVE™ Bright Blue and RAVE™ Coral. Changing any color except the highlight switches the theme to Custom automatically.

  • Highlight color: the action or offer line, RAVE™ Bright Blue (#0B67F6) by default. Campaigns that never changed it use Bright Blue; a color you picked is kept, including Coral.
  • Apply brand kit fills a Custom theme from your brand colors and font (background, text, highlight, badge, font), then you can tweak it.
  • + Save to brand kit under a color adds it to your workspace's brand kit (workspace owners and admins).

A live contrast check compares your text colors with their background (WCAG AA: 4.5:1 for regular text, 3:1 for the bold highlight line). If something may be hard to read, you'll see which colors and a Fix contrast button that adjusts only those. It's a suggestion: you can still save. The RAVE™ standard Light and Dark navy presets both pass.

Typography

  • Font: System sans (the RAVE™ standard), Match my website (uses your page's own font), or one of 12 Google Fonts: Inter, Poppins, Montserrat, Lato, Open Sans, Roboto, Nunito, Raleway, Playfair Display, Merriweather, DM Sans and Work Sans. A Google Font loads on your pages only when you pick one.
  • Headline size (small, medium, large) and Headline weight (regular, semibold, bold).
  • Highlight line weight, and an optional italic highlight line.
  • Time line: normal case or UPPERCASE.

Shape & effects

  • Card width: compact, standard or wide. Phones always use the full width.
  • Padding: tight, normal or roomy.
  • Corner radius: 0 to 32px; 18 to 22px matches the RAVE™ standard.
  • Avatar: circle, rounded square or hidden.
  • Border width: 0 to 3px.
  • Shadow: none, soft, medium (standard) or strong.
  • Frosted glass background: the card becomes slightly see-through with a blur behind it.

Motion

  • Entrance: slide up (standard), fade, pop or none. Visitors whose device asks for reduced motion always get no animation.

Live preview

The preview beside the settings stays in view as you scroll. It shows your campaign's real cards, with their wording, theme, colors, radius and position, using sample people and numbers (for example "214 people joined in the last 7 days!" or "12 people are viewing this page right now"). The offer line comes from, in order: the card's own highlight line if you set one, the campaign's most recent real product, your workspace's Sample product names (taking turns), then "Your offer". Set sample names under Settings → Sample product names in the workspace sidebar (up to 5). They're used only in that workspace, for previews, Preview on my site and Send test event. If your workspace came with default names, Settings shows them in the fields so you can see exactly what previews use; saving the fields empty goes back to those defaults. Pick a card, or All cards to cycle through them, and switch between Desktop and Mobile. It updates as you edit, before you save.

Preview on my site

Preview on my site, above the tabs, opens your real page with every card in the campaign:

  1. Choose the page

It starts with the campaign's first Show on page. Type any other page where the pixel is installed.

  2. Set sample numbers (optional)

For RAVE™ Count cards, choose the numbers to show, such as 214 events or 12 people viewing. Minimum counts are ignored, so every card shows.

  3. Open preview

The page opens in a new tab with a Preview label on each card and an Exit preview button.

The preview uses sample people and your numbers, shows every card (even ones that are off or limited to other pages), and is only visible in the browser that opened the link. Nothing is recorded in analytics, sample cards never carry Verified by RAVE™, and the link stops working after 1 hour.

Timing

SettingWhat it doesDefault
Initial delaySeconds after page load before the first card4
Display timeSeconds each card stays6
GapSeconds between cards8
Max per visitCards per browser session before stopping10

Privacy

  • Name format: First name + last initial ("Sarah J."), First name only, or Anonymous ("Someone from Austin").
  • Lookback (days): only events from this many days back are shown (30 by default, up to 365). Imported activity outside the window never shows.
  • Duplicate window (minutes): the same email doing the same thing within this window counts once. The default, 1440, is 24 hours.

Sources

Where activity comes from:

  • Webhook URL: the campaign's own address for opt-ins and purchases. JSON and form-encoded bodies both work.
  • Setup guides for ClickFunnels 2.0, ActiveCampaign, HighLevel (GoHighLevel), Zapier and Make, with optional event, product and step values added to the URL for you.
  • Auto form capture: on matching pages, the pixel records form submissions (email, first and last name) as sign-ups. No webhook needed.
  • Rave.track() for thank-you pages: a snippet for pages where no webhook exists.

See How webhooks work for details.

A/B test

Set the holdout (the share of visitors who see no cards) and the conversion goal: a page rule (for example /thank-you) or an event within a number of minutes. Both are explained in A/B testing and lift.

Other campaign actions

At the top of the campaign page you can Pause or Resume it, open Analytics and Imports, Duplicate it, or Delete it (this deletes its events too and can't be undone). Send test event adds one sample person that real visitors see on RAVE™ Alert and Live cards for an hour. It doesn't feed RAVE™ Count; use Preview on my site for Count cards.

Account owners and admins also see Reuse this campaign, to save it as a template or copy its settings to other workspaces. Copies start paused.

Troubleshooting

  • Cards don't show on a page: check the URL in Does this URL match?, confirm the campaign is live and at least one card is On, and check the Minimum count.
  • Old activity is missing: it may be outside the Lookback window.
  • My edits didn't appear: make sure you clicked Save changes, then reload the page after a minute.
