Team and roles
Account roles (owner, admin, member), workspace roles, inviting people, seats, transferring ownership and removing members.

RAVE™ has two places to add people, matching its two customer levels (see How RAVE™ is organized):
- The account team: your own staff. They can work across the account's workspaces.
- Workspace users: people who should see only one workspace, such as a client's own team.
Account roles
Manage these from Team in the account sidebar (under Manage). The page is titled Account team.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything, including billing, team and every workspace. One per account. |
| Admin | Billing, team, settings and every workspace. |
| Member | Works inside the workspaces: sites, campaigns and analytics. |
For agency accounts, each member is set to All clients or Only selected clients. Owners and admins always see everything.
Only the owner and admins see the account's Team, Billing, Settings and Usage pages. An admin can't change or remove another admin; only the owner can.
Workspace roles
Manage these from Team in a workspace's sidebar (under Workspace). The page is titled Workspace users.
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything in this workspace |
| Workspace admin | Workspace users, settings and campaigns |
| Workspace user | Sites, campaigns and analytics |
People invited here see only this workspace. They never see other workspaces or account billing. Only workspace owners and admins see the Team and Settings items in the workspace sidebar.
Invite someone
Open the right Team page
Use the account's Team for your staff, or a workspace's Team for someone who should see only that workspace.
Enter their email and role
For the account: Member or Admin (and, for agencies, which clients). For a workspace: Workspace user or Workspace admin.
Send the invite
RAVE™ emails an invitation link. If email isn't set up, RAVE™ shows the link so you can send it yourself.
They accept
The link works for 14 days and only for the invited email address.
What the invited person sees
The invitation email says who invited them, the account and workspace, and their role. It also has a short Your first 10 minutes with RAVE™ list (accept and sign in, open the setup guide, add your site, install the pixel) and a link to Getting started.
The first time they open the workspace, a welcome panel shows their role and what they can do, with Start setup and Take me to Help buttons. The workspace home's setup guide shows what's left to do. See The setup guide and your first visit.
Pending invitations are listed with their expiry date. Click Revoke to cancel one. RAVE™ stores invitation emails only as a hash plus a masked hint, such as ja******@example.com.
Seats
Your plan may include a set number of seats. Seats are counted across the whole account:
- everyone on the account team,
- every workspace user, in every workspace, and
- every pending invitation.
When all seats are used, new invites are blocked with a message. Upgrade, remove someone or revoke a pending invite to free a seat. If an account ends up with more people than its plan allows, for example after a downgrade, the extra seats become read-only until you upgrade.
Change a role
Owners and admins see a role menu next to each person. Pick the new role (and, for agency members, their clients), then click Save.
Transfer ownership
Only the current owner can do this, and the new owner must already be on the team.
Open Team
On the account (or workspace) Team page, find the person.
Click Make owner
Confirm the prompt.
Done
They become the owner, and you become an admin.
Remove someone or leave
Click Remove next to a person and confirm. Owners and admins can remove members; to leave a team yourself, click Leave next to your own name.
Troubleshooting
- "Only owners and admins can invite teammates": ask an owner or admin to send the invite.
- The invite link doesn't work: it may have expired after 14 days, or be opened with a different email address. Send a new invite.
- "Your plan includes N seats": free a seat or upgrade on the Billing page. See Plans, trials and billing.
